Retro Christmas Playlist
Before I can even remember listening to music, my mom had introduced my three brothers and I to classically good music by most people's standards.... well people that know good music. I was the 7 year old singing Fleetwood Mac, Louis Armstrong, James Taylor, U2, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Joni Mitchell, Elton John, CCR, I mean.... I could keep going, but I can also stop. Basically I was exposed to all sorts of music from rock, classical + country (like Johnny Cash, DIxie Chicks good country) and like every genre... 40's music 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, (my mom hates the 80's but I love it!). I could talk about music for a really long time, I just love it.
Coincidentally, I love Christmas music. Usually when I tell people this they cringe and I just know that they are hearing "Grandma Got Run Over by Reindeer" or "The Christmas Song" sung by literally everyone and their mother on repeat or my personal favorite: "Feliz Navidad" (*sarcasm*). I just know that is what you are thinking of! But when I said I love Christmas music, this is NOT what I was talking about. I am talking about retro, nostalgic, 40's, oldies Christmas songs. I am talking about Bing and Louis and Ella and Billie and Doris Day (I just have to say her first and last name because its the cutest). I am talking about "Little Jack Frost Get Lost." I am talking about the old CD's they used to sell at Restoration Hardware before they completely rebranded that store. I am talking about.... ok let me show you. I made you a playlist and I hope you listen to it. It feels bouncy and its sounds sparkly. If you know half of these songs I am really impressed and excited!
So here you have it... My "Not Your Average Christmas Playlist" Playlist!
enjoy!
Love, Kait
