Weekend Eats

One of my dearest friends, Brooke was in town this weekend and I took her to one of my favorite spots.  I have taken my mom here, my friend Jules and basically all my friends who already live in Seattle who have never been.  Its a go to and if you're ever in town, I'd love to treat you too.

Welcome to DERU Market.  They specialize in pizza and have a delicious deli selection full of seasonal favorites like beet salad, potatoes, and giant meatballs.  Also, they serve my favorite market salad with sautéed carrots, green leaf lettuce and topped with roasted pepitas  and dill weed.  YUM.

They also have extremely large cakes made daily... each slice worth a pretty penny... Im not saying its worth it, but it sure is fun to eat huge cake you know?

I want to recreate a couple of the items on the menu that stand out among the rest... like the salad I mentioned, and this amazing beet + mint lemonade.  I think you all will like them both!
