Hello!

Welcome to my website... I hope you enjoy reading about the meals I create, life on a boat, my personal style + travels with my husband!

Last Minute Mini Brunch

Last Minute Mini Brunch

Last week my darling friend Kayley came over to take some product photos for a final project for her senior year at the University a few miles from our home.  It worked out really well because I love having the content and she loved having access to the product.  She shot mostly Beautycounter stuff so I will be saving that for my business feed, but she also caught some of me in my element, cleaning, putting together a little spread and we had a little breakfast together which was really fun.

I love brunch and always have.  There is just something about opening the windows, making orange juice, brewing fresh coffee and nibbling on food through the morning to afternoon.  We had good conversation, lots of laughs and just time to enjoy the morning and the treats.

Usually, I make really healthy meals when people come over but for some reason, the night before Kayley came over, I realized that I completely blanked and forgot to prep for our morning together, so thus the last minute brunch!

I showed up to my trusty ole' pal Joe's place (AKA Trader Joe, from the grocery chain known as 'Trader Joe's') to grab some super essentials for a last minute breakfast... here is what I did:

  • Cara cara oranges
  • Organic Strawberries
  • Morning Glory Muffins (which by the way if you want to eat THE best morning glory muffin go to Macrina Bakery in Queen Anne!  They are something divine!!)
  • Broccoli + cheddar mini quiches (frozen section)
  • Sun flowers (because you must have flowers but you already knew that)

And home again I went to make my little spread.  I love having people over, any excuse to entertain and feed people is my jam and I'm the one raising my hand.  I love it.

I hope you have a chance to throw a brunch sometime in the near future... it doesn't have to be fancy, nothing ever does, you just have to welcome people into your home, give them a hug and enjoy the breeze from the day as you eat.
