The London Plane
Since we moved to Washington, one of my favorite things to do is explore and take the city like a tourist. I have spent countless hours researching and discovering new boutiques, gift shops, restaurants, cafes and of course coffee spots. I have to give it to you Seattle, you have a pretty good portfolio. I think something that is very distinct about Seattle life and style is that people do not hype everything up around here. Seattle has a quiet confidence that most other cities cannot claim. So sometimes it can be hard to find a really good place because when you find one, you notice that everyone there sort of wants to keep it a secret. I dig it. Even though I miss home dreadfully, I have found many a special spot to cheer me on a typically cloudy and dreary day. I hope I keep finding these diamonds in the rough.. The London Plane matches my description. They are such a beautiful little restaurant, they serve coffee with delicate cakes and meringues, they offer supplies to put together the perfect floral bouquet and they even teach seasonal center-piece classes. The people that work there are relaxed and precise. Great place to grab brunch on the weekends, a dense cake or croissant in the afternoon with a warm tea, or a pit stop to make an exceptional blooming bouquet.... not trying to hype it up or anything but I like it here,
enjoy...
