Hello!

Welcome to my website... I hope you enjoy reading about the meals I create, life on a boat, my personal style + travels with my husband!

Transition

Transition

Is it just me or does it feel like for the last three months people have been acting and talking as if it is already Summer, when it definitely is not. The thing about Seattle is we get Fall, and oh do we get a good long Winter and we honestly get an amazing Summer.... but hardly a Spring.  Seattle likes to hold on to Winter until about May it seems and just when you think the drizzle and grey are dissipating, we experience something I used to hear about in California called "June Gloom."

I want to let those of you reading this in on a little secret... Summer starts June 21st *she whispers.*  Its fine really, I experience more seasons here than I ever experienced growing up in Southern California.  However, when our Spring only lasts about about week and then everyone else is talking about Summer and ask "How is your Summer going?"  I simply have to correct you and say.  IT IS NOT SUMMER YET.  Just let me be and let Spring be.

Do not misunderstand me!  I absolutely love and live for Summertime.  Especially in CA because we would go to beach almost every weekend if not during the week.  I like how people seem more carefree and I especially love the produce and light cooking and eating of the Summer months.  I am completely obsessed with Summer, it is the best.  But...... there is something so amazing, so fresh, so bright, renewing and vibrating about Spring.  Therefore when it feels like everyone is cutting it short, I get a little protective of it.  Give me my Spring, we have a couple more days just everyone relax.

Trying to think of a segway into fashion when I go on tangents is probably the hardest thing about blogging for me.  That is why usually when I write a fashion post, I delete everything I wrote and just write something short about the outfit.  In some ways, I do not want to be a fashion blogger at all, but I honestly really love fashion, so I can't quite quit it.  But I also really love sustainable fashion.  I am not the girl to tell you what new things to buy each month, you probably don't really need it.  Most of me hates that whole idea.  I will tell you that I found the perfect blazer that I think will last me years and is a perfect transitional piece for the Spring and Summer months, but it is also a appropriate during Fall and Winter.  It is super comfy and feels casual, but it really styles up a normal T shirt and jeans and makes it more special.  I have been wanting to get this bad boy for a long time, but I waited until it went on promo.  I will link it here. I spent the day at some of my favorite Seattle spots with my beautiful friend Lena and we had a lot of fun.  Hoping you all had an amazing weekend and enjoyed the last few days of Spring because people: Summer is coming!
