Cabin Fever
A few months ago, some of our friends and we decided it would be really fun to go on a little trip between Christmas and New Year. We always say that we never see each other enough and we are already off work so, why not! We landed on somewhere in the middle of the two states. We found an airbnb in North Bend, Oregon that basically had the quintessential cabin feel, it was rustic but coastal at the same time. I am almost embarrassed to say that we mostly stayed inside that warm, comfy cabin for the entirety of our trip! Watching movies, playing board games and having good conversations was just what the doctor ordered. It was so much fun! If you ever want to stay here, let me know, it was a blast. Inviting, cozy + quaint. We really felt like we could make ourselves right at home which is not always the case when renting out a home so it was definitely unique. Here are some of my favorite shots... excuse the indoor lighting and tired eyes!
I am not kidding when I tell you we sat around watching movies allllllll day! Honestly, each of us girls were a bit under the weather and I think after a busy stretch of holidays it was so nice to just relax and hang out for a few days. The trip kind of flew by too so it did not last long enough!
We all rotated and made breakfast, and the day I cooked, I made a really delicious baked french toast and egg puff dish with bacon + orange juice on the side because duh. I will post the egg puff and the baked french toast soon (even though they will not fit into any healthy eating plan) but it was really yummy and we ate it two days in a row!
The surrounding area was really beautiful, I do wish we went outside a little bit more looking back. It had just rained the previous day so Kristi and I decided it would be good for us to romp around and get a little exercise. Even though it was so fun cozying up all day long, sometimes you just have to get some fresh air on your skin. Here is more of the property as well... isn't it cute?
At the end of the day, it was just fun spending time with the ones we love. Catching up, talking through life goals, thinking about the future, laughing a lot... Feeling so thankful now, as I look back on this trip. Thankful I get to live this life with Tim by my side and knowing that even though we miss our friends in our day to day, they are never too far away. Hopefully this little holiday retreat will become a new tradition.... even when we all have babies in tow!
